Peru and Bolivia Itinerary

Spiritual Travel to Bolivia and Peru: The Heart of the Andes

October 17-30, 2020

Itinerary

October 17
Arrive La Paz and settle into accommodations. We meet Carla Woody at our lodging for the opening circle at 4 PM to frame the intent of our journey. Continue at group dinner getting to know each other. Overnight La Paz.
October 18
Today we spend the day at Tiwanaku, the site, Andean legend says, where the first humans appeared, and Viracocha named the place of creation — an apt beginning to our initiation journey. Some researchers date the ruins at 14,000 BCE. We discover what is inherent at this site, where no explanation exists for the precision in the construction of Puma Punku and The Gate of the Sun. We make our ceremonies to inform the travels ahead. Overnight La Paz. Breakfast included.
October 19
We leave La Paz and travel on the waters of Lake Titicaca to a most sacred site in the southern Bolivian basin where Inkan creation stories say the sun first arose. We place our offerings at the Temple of the Sun and continue on our way to the tiny village of Yumani and our lodging. Free time to explore this extraordinarily picturesque area. Overnight Island of the Sun. All meals included.
October 20
Our private boat brings us to the Island of the Moon where we are transported back in time in this power place where priestesses underwent Mystery School and maintained the sanctity of the Temple of the Moon. Later we journey on the waters near the Island of the Sun to experience ceremony in caves, a closely held sacred site where few outsiders have ventured. We end the day taking in the sunset and moonrise behind Illimani, grandest mountain visible to us on the Bolivian coast. All meals included. Overnight Island of the Sun.
October 21
Late morning we gather for a circle to begin grounding our experiences through sharing as we wish. We visit Copacabana and then depart Bolivia to enter the Puno Region of Peru and the Hayu Marka Mountain Range, known as the City of the Gods. Here it’s said the high priest Amaru Muru passed through the portal to join the gods, and the gods will one day come through from the other side bringing global transformation. We make offerings and press our bodies to the stone gateway where many have experienced visions, energy and even heard inexplicable music. Then make our way into the stone forest full of guardians caught in timelessness and find our place to meditate and integrate the Otherworld. Overnight Puno. Breakfast included.
October 22
Today we make a day trip from Puno and experience Sillustani, a pre-Inkan site of the Pukara people where nobility and religious leaders were interred in chullpas, or towers, on a mesa of the Altiplano overlooking Umayo lake, waters of serenity. We venture to a fertility temple and pay our respects in offerings. Overnight Puno. Breakfast included.
October 23
We depart Puno for travel to Cusco. Along the way we stop at Raqch’i, the Temple of Viracocha with the houses of Inka priests and priestesses nearby. The sacred ruins provide a place of meditation and reflection. Overnight Cusco. Breakfast included.
October 24
Free time to explore the Plaza De Armas and the surrounding winding streets and shops. In the evening, meet Jack Wheeler and learn of Xapiri’s remarkable preservation work with Indigenous tribes in the Brazilian and Peruvian jungles.  Overnight Cusco. Breakfast included.
October 25
Mid-morning we gather for a circle to begin grounding our experiences through sharing as we wish. In the afternoon we depart for the village of Paucartambo where we spend the night in preparation for our journey to Q’ero. All meals included. Overnight Paucartambo.
October 26
On this day we leave in the morning and travel via transport to Q’ero. Enjoying the incredible scenery along the way, we arrive in the Q’ero village of Ccochamocco approximately mid-afternoon. Greet the community and settle into our lodging for a good night’s rest. All meals included. Overnight Q’ero.
October 27
All day we engage with the Elders and paqo’s as they share their cosmology and medicine teachings and spend time at the new ancestral wisdom center. We reciprocate by offering any stories and natural medicine teachings we may have. Late afternoon into evening we share a despacho ceremony, or blessing ritual, and traditional Q’ero music with the community. All meals included. Overnight Q’ero.
October 28
We continue our involvement with the community and explore the mountains and surrounding area hiking and on horseback as we wish. All meals included. Overnight Q’ero.
October 29
Early morning we reluctantly bid our Q’ero friends goodbye and return to Cusco, hearts filled to the brim. Breakfast/lunch included. Overnight Cusco.
October 30
Free time to rest, reflect on the journey and further discover Cusco on your own. We end this day with a late afternoon closing circle and farewell dinner. Breakfast included. Overnight Cusco.
October 31
Fly home. Breakfast included at our lodging.
Note: We build flexibility into the schedule. Activities may be adjusted to accommodate the weather, if required.
